2018 Pacific Northwest Docent & Volunteer Association Conference

The 2018 Pacific Northwest Docent & Volunteer Association Conference is coming to Newport, OR this September!  Co-hosted between the Oregon coast Aquarium and the Hatfield Marine Science Center, the theme of the 2018 PNDVA Conference is Bridge to Ocean Exploration.  We are excited to invite attendees to experience all the adventure that Newport and the Oregon Coast has to offer!

What is PNDVA?

The Pacific Northwest Docent & Volunteer Association is an organization of volunteers dedicated to encouraging and improving volunteerism in zoos, aquariums, museums, interpretive centers, and other facilities in the Pacific Northwest Region.

How does one become a member of PNDVA?

Are you a volunteer in the Pacific Northwest?  If so, then you are automatically a member of the PNDVA!  There are no forms to complete or membership dues to belong to this organization beyond the time and energy you already give to your host organization.  We do ask conference attendees to pay a fee to help with the cost of hosting the event, however membership is open for all volunteers.

What is the purpose of PNDVA?

The Pacific Northwest Docent and Volunteer Association exists to provide a chance for volunteer education and for networking opportunities between volunteers.  This conference serves as an opportunity for volunteers to come meet and reconnect with their peers from other facilities across the Pacific Northwest.  The host volunteers of the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Hatfield Marine Science Center are excited to invite the attendees to come explore some of the amazing adventures and opportunities that the Oregon Coast has to offer.
